Transitional Rental Rates for Existing Renters
In 2009 the Sanderson Centre conducted an extensive review of its rental rates. The rates effective July 1, 2010 reflect the revised rental categories and discounts being offered. Some of our rental clients see a reduction in their rates under the new system while many are unchanged. For those returning renters who experience an increase in the rental rate being charged, primarily those that rent the theatre for multiple days including a setup or rehearsal day, the Sanderson Centre Board has adopted a transitional rate policy to phase in these increases over a three year period.
Existing Renters
Any organization, company or individual who has rented the theatre through a rental agreement at least once in the period July 1, 2008 through July 1, 2010 is considered an existing renter for the purpose of this policy.
Additional Rental Cost
For the purpose of this policy, additional rental costs will be calculated as the difference between the rental fee and surcharge fee payable under the rates and fees in force at the time of the rental less the rental fee and surcharge fee payable for the rental booking in question as calculated using the approved rates and fees effective July 1, 2009.
Policy
Existing renters are eligible to receive transitional assistance for increased rental costs for rentals occurring in the period July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2012. In the event the additional rental cost is less than $75 or less than 10% of the 2009 rental fee and surcharge fee, this policy does not apply.
The amount of transitional assistance will be calculated as follows:
- July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011: 66% of the additional rental cost will be waived.
- July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012: 33% of the additional rental cost will be waived.
