John MacLeod has led a distinguished career spanning 40 years on the Canadian music scene. His first major national and international exposure was as a soloist with Rob McConnell and the Boss Brass, beginning in 1983. His playing can be heard on many Spitfire Band and Boss Brass albums including 2 Grammy Award winners. John’s other playing experience to date includes all forms of jazz performance; live theatre; and studio recording for film, TV and radio.

Although his international reputation is that of a bassist having appeared on some landmark recordings including “John Handy Live at The Monterey Jazz Festival” (1965) and “Jim Hall Live” (1975) Don Thompson is also an accomplished pianist, vibraphonist, composer and arranger. Don has won three Juno awards, The Oscar Peterson Award  and the Hagood Hardy Award for Composition as well as thirteen National Jazz Awards. In 2009 he was made an Officer of the Order Of Canada.
